Revision of the genus Cetrelia (Lecanorales, Ascomycota) in the Bialowieza Forest (Belarussian part)

In the territory of NP the Białowieża Forest no special research on specific structure of lichens of the Cetrelia has been carried out, and there are only single instructions in publications (Golubkov 1986, 1987 and others) whose definitions are based on morphological characteristics and results of colour chemical reactions which are not always reliable. Three taxa of Cetrelia (C. cetrarioides, C. monachorum, C. olivetorum) have been identified in a study of the genus in Belarussian part of the Białowieża Forest. Cetrelia monachorum is the commonest member of the genus in the Białowieża Forest (46 records), whereas C. olivetorum is known from 35 localities. Cetrelia cetrarioides appears to be the rarest species of the genus in the Białowieża Forest (2 records). The distribution and status of three species in the Białowieża Forest are reviewed, distribution maps are provided, and the merits of the segregates for conservation measures are discussed.

This paper discusses the status of Lecanora semipallida H. Magn. in Poland, with special emphasis to its known distribution. The species was fi rst reported from the area of Poland in the 19th century under the name ‘L. flotoviana Spr.’ and was neglected for over a century. Based on current study it is found to be a common, widespread species occurring on calcareous rocks and concrete in all kinds of environment; L. flotoviana Spreng. was not confi rmed as occurring in Poland.

This report deals with 79 species of fungi, collected in Cyprus in the second fortnight of November 2011. The list is annotated with diagnostic characters given for some of the specimens. Several taxa are of special interest due to their rarity: Conferticium ochraceum, Eutypa scabrosa, Glonium lineare, Hymenoscyphus calyculus, Hypoderma incrustatum, Hyphoderma nemorale, Hysterographium mori, Myriostoma coliforme, Rectipilus cistophilus, Stictis friabilis, Stictis radiata, Thanatephorus sterigmaticus, Tomentella asperula and Vuilleminia megalospora.

Two lichenized fungi, Lecania cuprea and Micarea pycnidiophora, are reported for the first time from Poland. Lecania cuprea is also recorded as a new lichen species to the Western Beskidy Mts and the Pieniny Mts and M. pycnidiophora is new to the Carpathians. Illustrated descriptions, taxonomic notes, habitat requirements and known distributions for both species are provided.
