Invasive plants are considered to be a major threat to biodiversity, both at the local and global scale. Up to now there have been only occasional activities undertaken in Poland to solve the problem. They were supported by non-governmental organizations and conducted on a local scale. One of such organizations is the Lower Silesian Branch of the Polish Ecological Club. In 2007 the organization initiated a special project, which was conducted until 2009. Main aims of the project were: 1. dissemination of basic information relating to the problem of biological invasions, 2. collection of data on the distribution and habitat preferences of invasive plants in the Dolnośląskie and Opolskie Provinces with the help of secondary school pupils. The article contains information on the project and presents the main conclusions from three years of field work.
