The issues of implementing renewable sources can be examined both globally as well as in terms of particular branches of the indsutry and fields of life. Renewable energy sources are successfully implemented in, for example, housing development. For some time now, they have been applied in modern and environment-friendly single-family housing development. It is increasingly visible that developers, who are in charge of building residential estates, pay careful attention to not only the technology and costs of construction, but also maintenance costs.
Nanotechnology is expected to be a critical driver of global economic growth and development in this century. Using nanotechnology for production of nanomaterials with unique properties is expected to revolutionize technology and industry. The forest and wood products industry relies on a vast renewable resource base to manufacture a wide range of products that are indispensable in our modern society. By employing nanotechnology to revitalize the forest products industry, we can strengthen one of Polish core manufacturing sector. Poland has a great infrastructure for growing, harvesting and processing wood products, which provides a key employment base in almost every aspect. This infrastructure provides a fundamental strategic advantage that can be used for preserving the global economic competitiveness of this industry. Nanotechnology holds the promise of changing virtually all of the processes by which wood and paper products are now made, transforming the sector from a resource-based to a knowledge-based industry with much greater prospects for long-term stability.
The origin of technology was has talked over the technology of automatic identification of objects using radio waves. Currently the RFID technology is one of the most dynamically developing methods of automatic object identification. It is replacing or co-existing with the semi-automatic (the so-called human-assisted) identification, realized on the basis of an optical bar code. The structure of system was introduced tags RFID (also called transponders – micro radio transmitters) are small-size communication elements, in which required information may be recorded. Despite a significant decrease in prices of tags, as well as the other components of the RFID infrastructure, the cost of installation of this system is several times higher than that of the implementation of the bar code technology. In Poland the RFID technology was implemented for the first time in the furniture industry in 2008.
This article is devoted to an analysis of roundwood price changes in the Polish market based on various sources of primary data. In the examined period high similarity of data was observed, regardless of the source of information. Most importantly, similar trends in the scope of roundwood price changes were identified.
This article has been written in an attempt to diagnose a rather peculiar crisis that had manifested itself during the recent global financial crisis. It deals with the crisis of leadership or, in other words, the implications of leadership at the time of crisis, including regional leadership. It is being done in the context of major theoretical concepts of regional development. The authors identify key dimensions of the problem as well as directions for further studies oriented towards the elimination of outcomes and underlying causes of the growing economic crisis.
Since online auctions and new rules for the wood sales were introduced by The State Forests National Forest Holding, business transaction participants have been dealing with uncertainty. Lack of understandable rules, unpredictability of the auctions’ results, rising prices of wood and, in particular, lack of a stable economic policy towards the forest-wood industry – all of these factors contribute negatively to the market’s development and the competitiveness of the Polish wood industry. This article is an attempt to diagnose the situation and formulate recommendations, which may contribute to the implementation of economically justifiable changes.
