Obserwowano 11 polimorficznych loci w 7 systemach enzymatycznych 6-PGD (dehydrogenaza 6-fosfoglukonianowa), AAT (aminotransferaza asparaginianowa), LAP (aminopeptydaza leucynowa), TPI (izomeraza triozofosforanowa), GAL (β-galaktozydaza kwaśna), ALAT (aminotransferaza alaninowa), EST (esteraza).

The genus Lathynis is a member of Fabaceae family and comprises about 160 annual and perennial species. Lathyrus sativus and Lathyrus cicera are tolerant to drought, flooding and low soil quality. To explain geographical relationships 40 accessions (30 of L. sativus and 10 of L. cicera) were examined originating from 17 different countries. 11 polymorphic loci were observed for 7 enzyme systems: 6-PGD (6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase), AAT (aspatrate aminotransferase), LAP (leucine aminopeptidase), TPI (triose phosphate isomerase), GAL (galactosidase), ALAT (alanine aminotransferase), EST (esterase). High polymorphism was observed for 6-PGD and AAT where four different alleles were detected. Isozyme-based dendrogram was constructed with hierarchical clustering using UPGMA (Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Mean). The lines clustered into four main groups. The highest similarity was observed for 6 subjects of Lathyrus cicera from Greece.
