It is more and more common to use organic fertilizers in plant nursery, what improves not only the chemical composition of soil but also its biological and physical properties. In this paper the effects of natural and mineral fertilizers on shoots increments in young plants of Spruce, Yew and Beech wege compared. The application of following fertilizers: 3 g per plant of TerraCottem and UG max (2 g per plant) showed a positive effect on shoot growth in all plants. Fertilizers: EKO and Azofoska had good influence on shoot increase in Spruce, and lower dose of Osmocote positively affected the Yew’s growth. Higher doses of mineral fertilizers (Osmocote and Azofoska) inhibited the growth rate of Yew’s shoots. After two years of studies the effect of mineral and organic fertilizers on shoot increments was comparable.
