Phytophthora cryptogea i P. citrophthora izolowano głównie z porażonych tkanek podstawy pędu i korzeni 8 gatunków bylin.

Phytophthora cryptogea and Phytophthora citrophthora were mainly isolated from infected stem base and root tissues of 8 perennial species. In laboratory conditions their pathogenicity toward mass- produce plants in container ornamental nurseries was studied. Analysed isolates colonised coniferous plants as well as rhododendron tissues, exept forsythia. Significant differences in the rate of tissue colonisation were noticed. Faster spread of necrosis was observed on inoculated host-plant tissues than other potential hosts.
