Foreign investment are significant importance for economy of every county. Particularly Poland needs to exert itself for this capital because it might contribute to overcoming the economic underdevelopment with regard to the old members of the EU. The analysis of the negative influence of foreign investments in Poland has shown that attracting foreign investors requires making changes in macro economical politics (taxation) and creating favourable conditions for reinvestment of profits. The investors, mainly from Europe, avoid Polish agriculture but they are more and more willing to invest capital in grocery trade. Such companies made employed 3,1% of all companies with foreign capital interest and they employed 7,7% of workers in companies. It is, howeover, important to realize that foreign investments were focused on Warsaw metropolis and in the western Polish provinces and they were not located in the underdeveloped eastern regions of Poland.
