W celu złagodzenia ewentualnego inhibicyjnego wpływu herbicydu na enzymy, doświadczenie prowadzono w dwóch seriach: I - bez dodatku bentonitu i II - z bentonitem w ilości 60 g∙kg-1 s.m. gleby. Pogarszał właściwości fizyko-chemiczne gleby i zmniejszał plon jęczmienia jarego. Negatywne oddziaływanie na katalazę, ureazę i arylosulfatazę częściowo łagodził dodany do gleby bentonit.

A pot experiment (3 kg of soil in a pot) was performed to determine the effect of soil (loamy sand) contamination with the Harpun 500 SC herbicide on the activity of soil enzymes. Harpun 500 SC was applied at following doses: 0 - control, 1 - dose recommended by the manufacturer, and at doses that were 10-, 50-, 100-, 150- and 200-fold higher than recommended. In order to ease the possible inhibitory effect of the herbicyde on enzymes, the experiment was conducted in two series: I - without bentonite and II - with bentonite in the quantity of 60 g∙kg-1 d.m. soil. It was found that the contamination of soil contributed to changes in enzymatic activity. Harpun 500 SC had an inhibitory effect on the activity of catalase, urease, acid phosphatase, alkaline phosphatase and arylsulfatase. It had a negative effect on the physicochemical properties of soil and decreased the yield of spring barley. The negative influence on catalase, urease and phosphatase was partly alleviated by the addition of bentonite to the soil.
