Badania miały na celu identyfikację wyizolowanych grzybów Verticillium spp. z pieczarek z objawami suchej zgnilizny z różnych rejonów Polski oraz określenie ich patogeniczności. Identyfikacja molekularna z wykorzystaniem techniki PCR z niespecyficznymi starterami RAPD i ISSR wykazała, że wszystkie wyizolowane szczepy to Verticillium fungicola var. fungicola. Stwierdzono zróżnicowaną patogeniczność izolatów, przy czym największy stopień wirulencji miały izolaty z rejonu siedleckiego i dolnośląskiego. Zakażenie uprawy konidiami Verticillium spp. w liczbie 108 na m2 skutkuje prawie całkowitą utratą plonu.

The most common fungal disease of white button mushroom (Agaricus bisporus) is dry bubble caused by fungi Verticillium spp. Two varieties of the pathogen were identified, i.e. Verticillium fungicola var. fungicola and Verticillium fungicola var. aleophilum. The infection drastically reduce yields and value of the crop. The symptoms of the disease are undifferentiated masses of tissue instead of fruiting bodies, i.e. dry bubble, the disintegration of mushroom stipe, i.e. stipe blow-out and brown lesions on the caps. The aim of work was to identify by PCR method the Verticillium spp. isolates, obtained from diseased mushrooms. The result showed that isolated pathogens are V. fungicola var. fungicola. The pathogenicity test confirmed that isolates had various levels of virulence.
