Przeprowadzone badania ukazały asortyment kwiatów ciętych, zieleni ciętej oraz kwitnących roślin doniczkowych wykorzystywanych do dekoracji 22 kościołów Krakowa w okresach zwykłych roku liturgicznego, w czasie Wielkanocy i Pierwszej Komunii Świętej. Przeprowadzono ankietę bezpośrednią, a także oceniono dekoracje roślinne. Wykazano, że 61% wszystkich używanych do dekoracji kościołów kwiatów ciętych stanowią złocienie gałązkowe i róże oraz lilie, goździki i anturia. Chętnie stosowana jest zieleń cięta (17 gatunków). Spośród doniczkowych roślin kwitnących najwięcej używa się hortensji i azalii w okresie Wielkanocy. Powtarzające się błędy techniczne i kompozycyjne potwierdziły niewystarczające przygotowanie osób zajmujących się dekorowaniem badanych kościołów.

The results of observations of flower decorations in 22 churches in Krakow demonstrated the assortment of cut flowers, green foliage, and blooming pot plants used during liturgical year. The studies included direct inquiry forms and evaluation of compositions. The examination of the amount of chosen plants showed, that favored flowers are Chrysanthemum, Rosa, Dianthus, Lilium and Anthurium (72%). Seventeen different species of green foliage were used in the described flower compositions. At Easter time pot plants are used more often for interior decoration (Hydrangea macrophylla, Rhododendron simsii). Numerous mistakes repeated in flower compositions in many churches in Kraków were observed. This suggests an insufficient knowledge and skills of persons, who design and create floral arrangements in churches.
