The effect of abscisic acid, maleate hydrazide and silicon on electrolyte leakage from the cells of Chamaecyparis lawsoniana, Rhododendron and Thuja plicata kept under natural low temperatures during the winter, was determined. It was found, that spraying plants with ABA at concentration 30 mg‧dm⁻³ decreased the amount of electrolyte leakage from the cells during the winter. Similar effect was observed, when the plants of Rhododendron were sprayed with silicon. Maleate hydrazide did not show any positive effect on decreasing electrolyte leakage from the cells of investigated plants.
