The aim of this study was to assess sludge application, and its after a year or two years, on healt of maize grown for grain and silage. In these years, sludge application in maize grown for grain caused the increase of number of plants infected by Ustilago zeae by about 5.2%. In the remaining years of the sludge application in maize grown both for grain and silage, showed only tendency to increase the number of infected maize plants by this fungus. The introduction of sludge did not influence plant damage by Ostrinia nubilalis, only in maize grown for grain in 2006–2007 there was a tendency to reduce % of the number of damaged plants after the application of sludge.
