Wild species of the genus Beta are important as a source of genes resistant or tolerant to diseases, pests and stress abiotic factors. The purpose of this investigation was to search for the efficient in vitro multiplication method of some of the wild beet species of the genus Beta. The initial explants were the tips of inflorescence shoots (B. macrorhiza, B. lomatogona, B. corolliflora, B. trigyna) based on MS medium supplemented with several levels and concentrations of growth regulators (BAP, TDZ, KIN, 2iP). Sugar beets were used as a control. MS medium with 1 mg∙dm-3 BAP was the best for the effective plant regeneration of wild beet species. For rooting, multiplied shoots were transferred to 1/2 MS rooting medium with 3.0, 6.0 or 9.0 mg∙dm-3 IBA and MS medium supplemented with the increased level of vitamins and 6.0 mg∙dm-3 IAA, 1.0 and 3.0 mg∙dm-3 NAA. The investigated wild beet species of the genus Beta contrary to sugar beet, sporadically regenerated roots on the used mediums.
