Celem przeprowadzonych badań było określenie reakcji biochemicznej i fizjologicznej grochu zwyczajnego na nadmiar miedzi w glebie. Materiał do badań stanowił groch zwyczajny (Pisum sativum), którego nasiona wysadzono do gleby z dodatkiem różnych ilości miedzi (2.5, 5 i 10 mmol∙kg-1 gleby). Oznaczenie aktywności katalazy, peroksydazy, zawartości MDA, proliny, chlorofilu a, b, karotenoidów, intensywności asymilacji CO2 i transpiracji oraz bilansu wodnego przeprowadzono w 14, 21 i 28 dniu wegetacji badanej rośliny. W miarę wzrostu zawartości miedzi w podłożu wzrastała zawartość dialdehydu malonowego i proliny u grochu siewnego. Najwyraźniejszy wzrost aktywności enzymów (CAT i POX) odnotowano w roślinach uprawianych w glebie z dodatkiem 5 mmol miedzi.

The aim of the studies was to determine biochemical and physiological reaction of pea to the excessive amount of copper in soil. The material for the investigation was pea (Pisum sativum L.), the seeds of which were sown in the soil with various amounts of copper added (2.5, 5 and 10 mmol∙kg-1 of soil). The activity of catalisis and peroxidasy, the amount of MDA, proline, chlorophyll a, b and carotenoids, the intensity of CO2 assimilation and transpiration and the water balance were determined on the 14th, 21st and 28th day of vegetation of the examined plant. With the increased amount of copper in the medium there was an increase in the content of malonic dialdehyde and proline in pea. The most distinct increase in the activity of enzyme (CAT and POX) was observed in plants cultivated in the soil with 5 mmol of copper added. Increasing doses of copper significantly decreased the intensity of CO2 assimilation and transpiration and caused an increase in the WSD index. A decrease in the amount of chlorophyll a and b and a significant increase of carotenoids in leaves of pea plant on the 28th day of the investigation was observed when the highest dose of Cu (10 mmol∙kg-1 of soil) was applied.
