The last checklist of planthoppers and leafhoppers of Poland was published in 1990 by NAST.&CHUDZICKA and comprised 503 species (about 28% of the European fauna of this group). Compared to the first checklist from 1976, 10 species were omitted because the data on their occurrence in Poland were doubtful. These are Anaceratagallia frisia (WAGN.), Tremulicerus vitreus (F.), Micantulina micantula (ZETT..), Eurhadina untica Dlab., Euperyx curtisii FL, Zygina pruni Edw., Hardya signifer (THEN), Mocydiopsis parvicauda (RIB.), Ebarrius interstinctus (FlEB.) and Cosmotettix costalis (Fall). Moreover, 25 species were added as new to Polish fauna. Since that time a few additional taxa have been found in Poland, such as Speudotettix montanus GEB. ET SZWEDO. (species known only from southeastern Poland), Tremulicerus vitreus (F.), Eupteryx immaculatifrons (KEM.), Balclutha calamagrostis Oss.., Bugraria ocularis (M. et R.), Streptanus ogumae MATS., Cicadella lasiocarpae OSS. and Cicadula longiventris (J. SHLB.). In this paper we present three leafhopper species new to Poland, i.e. Alebra viridis Rey (earlier as a subspecies of Alebra albostriella (FALL.)), Ribautiana alces (RIB.) and Macrosteles alpinus (ZETT.). For Cosmotettix costalis (FALL.) and Micantulina micantula (ZETT.) we give first true records of the species. As a result of this the Polish fauna of planthoppers and leafhoppers contains 515 species at this time. Additionally, we describe new foundings of 9 taxa being rare: Euides basilinea (GERM..), Struebingianella lugubrina (BOH.), Cicadella lasiocarpae OSS., Ribautiana scalaris (RIB.), Arboridia ribauti (OSS.), Arboridia velata (RIB.), Elymana kozhevnikovi (ZACHV.), Doliotettix lunulatus (ZETT.) and Metalimnus formosus (BOH.). We also publish the records of Neophilaenus infumatus (HPT.) from Poland which were overlooked in NAST 1976 and take the notice of an interesting form of Anoscopus albifrons (L.) with pigmentation of the body and male copulatory organs resembling Anoscopus limicola (EDW.). For each species taxonomic, biogeographical and ecological data are also provided.
