Biological control of pests and plant diseases in Polish allotments is applied in a very limited extent. None of questioned allotment owners applied beneficial insects against pests, and only in three cases microbiological pesticides (based on Bacillus thuringiensis) were used in pests control. Commercial pesticides based on plant material were used by 4 gardeners while 14 allotment owners prepared plant pesticides by themselves. About 70% among questioned allotment owners grow tolerant and resistances cultivars of vegetables and fruit trees and bushes as well as apply intercropping as a method of pest control.
