Experiments involving the predatory mite Amblyseius andersoni Chant were carried out in the 2009 growing season from May to September. A. andersoni as a species chosen to detailed plot studies was selected on the basis of 2007–2008 observations conducted on strawberry commercial plantations. The model plants used in the study were: strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa Duchesne) cv. Honeoye and herb bennet (Geum urbanum L.). The aim of this experiment was to evaluate the biological efficiency of A. andersoni, as a predator of two-spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae Koch) using the dispersion model. On plants surrounding plantations were found eleven species from the family Phytoseiidae, and three were of them dominant species: N. reductus, A. andersoni, E. finlandicus and together they accounted for more than 70%. The plot studies showed that A. andersoni was an effective native predatory mite of the two-spotted spider mite on strawberries plants.
