Czynnikiem doświadczalnym były nasiona bobiku wprowadzone do mieszanek starter w ilości 10%, a grower w ilości 20% według układu: grupa K (kontrolna) – nasiona surowe, grupa B12 – nasiona moczone 12 h, grupa B24 – nasiona moczone 24 h. W moczonych nasionach bobiku wykazano zmniejszenie koncentracji popiołu i tłuszczu, a zwiększenie białka ogólnego i włókna.

The aim of the studies were to compare the effects of mixtures containing raw or soaked faba bean in broiler chickens feeding. In the first stage of the research was soaked faba bean seeds and chemical analysis on the content of the basal nutrients, fiber fraction and anti-nutritional substances. Next a nutritional experiment was conducted on broiler chickens ROSS 308 which were assigned randomly to 3 groups [4 subgroups × (4 cocks + + 4 cockerels)]. Rearing of the birds was carried out 6 weeks and they were fed during the first three weeks starter mixtures, and for the next 21 days grower. The experimental factor faba bean seeds were introduced into the mixtures starter in the share of 10%, and grower – 20% according to the system: group K (control) – raw faba bean seeds, group B12 – faba bean seeds soaked for 12 h, the group B24 – faba bean seeds soaked 24 h. The faba bean seeds subjected to the process of soaking has been shown to reduce the concentration of ash and crude fat and increasing crude protein and crude fiber, as well as ADF fraction. Soaking of the faba bean did not affect the levels of anti-nutritional substances (tannins, phytinic acids). Introduction into mixtures for broiler chickens soaked faba bean had a negative impact on production results, because after 6 weeks of rearing, they received lower by 6.5 and 4.5% of body weight (p ≤ 0.05) with higher by 1.8 and 1.2% feed conversion ratio (p > 0.05) in comparison to control chickens. However, it was shown that carcasses of chickens fed with bean soaked for 24 h were better muscled, less fat, and in the breast muscle the least fat and most mineral compounds were found. Results of this study allow to recommend the mixtures for broilers especially faba beans soaked for 24 h but only in order to improve the indicators of slaughter. It is not recommended to wet the faba bean for 12 h.
