This paper proposes, a new integrated traffic control method which makes it possible to take into account environmental protection requirements. It uses multicriteria control concepts and newly developed hardware possibilities (e.g. new generations of intelligent traffic road video-detectors). Traffic and environmental situations are identified and classified into appropriate modes with the use of data obtained from detectors. The control domination structure is adjusted according to preference directions of these modes. In consequence the appropriate adaptive control actions are determined. An illustrative example is included.
