The paper includes a list of 53 rare, threatened and/or legally protected species of vascular plants (both native and alien ones), found in Nowy Sącz in the years 1997–1999. 19 of them are legally protected species and 37 of them are threatened or rare. Two of those species, Eleocharis ovata and Geranium divaricatum, have not been mentioned in the specialist literature so far from the Nowy Sącz Basin and its surroundings.
