W pracy oszacowano zmienność wewnątrzosobniczą i międzyosobniczą spożycia żywności w grupie 281 mężczyzn w wieku 45-64 lal.

The intraindividual and interindividual variability of food consumption was analysed in a group of 281 men aged 45-64 years. The data were used for the determination of the number of days indispensable for precise estimation of the individual usual consumption and the number of individuals in group making possible estimation of the mean consumption in the group. The number of days indispensable for precise estimation of the individual mean value of energy and nutritional value ranged from 4 days for energy to 53 days for vitamin A. The number of individuals in group necessary for estimation of the mean values with the assumed precision should be from 9 for the energy value to 61 for the vitamin A content in the diet. The comparison of the effect of increasing of the number of days of the study with increasing of the number of individuals in group on the value of deviation of the estimated mean from the actual mean for the group showed that the effect was greater if the number of individuals was increased in the group than in case of increased number of days of the study. Besides that, the results of food intake estimated by 24-hour recall and three-day record methods were compared. The correlation coefficients between the both methods were statistically significant for all analysed components and products, apart from potatoes, and the per cent of individuals qualified according to the results of both methods ranged for the same distribution tercile from 36% for vegetable fats to 51% for calcium.
