W badaniu jednorazowym i wielokrotnym wykazano zmiany w transporcie i kumulacji fosforu w jelicie oraz w jego wydalaniu z moczem w wyniku narażenia na karbaryl, propoksur i tiuram.
Experiments have been carried out on 4 weeks old male Wistar rats to investigate the effect of intoxication with carbaryl, propoxur or thiuram, in a single or repeated doses, on selected parameters being characteristic of phosphorus metabolism. During the intoxication with a single dose, pesticides were administered by stomach tube in a dose corresponding to 20% LD50. Phosphorus transport in the jejunum (using the everted sacs method) and accumulation of the element in tissues, was investigated after 2, 4, 6, and 24 hrs following the administration. In the course of the intoxication with repeated doses, pesticides were administered intragastrically at dosing level corresponding to 5% LD50, six times a week, for 1, 2, and 4 weeks. The intestinal transport and accumulation of phosphorus, the level of the element in the blood serum and femur as well as its urine elimination, were studied. Carbaryl, propoxur, and thiuram were found to disturb, to a different degree, the phosphorus intestinal transport and urine elimination of this element. This action was found to be time and dose dependent. No change of phosphorus concentration in the blood serum and the femur, was observed.
