Przedstawiono podstawowe założenia filozofii J. Mariasa (ur. 1914). Jest to pierwsza w naszym kraju prezentacja poglądów tego filozofa, zmierzająca do ich ujęcia całościowego, w początkowych partiach tekstu ukazano związki myśli Mariasa z filozofią J. Ortegi у Gasseta. Odegrały one istotną rolę w ukształtowaniu się postawy teoretycznej Mariasa. Specyfika tych relacji została określona przez porównanie stosunku Mariasa do koncepcji Ortegi z jej ujęciami prezentowanymi przez innych uczonych. W dalszej części pracy wskazano najistotniejsze motywy rozważań J. Mariasa, zwracając szczególną uwagę na ich aspekty metafizyczne i epistemologiczne, oraz ukazano jej liczne związki z fenomenologią. Zauważono, że omawiana filozofia może być postrzegana jako synteza poglądów M. Unamuno i J. Ortegi у Gasseta.

This article discusses the basic principle of J. Marias' phylosophy (born 1914).It is the first presentation of this phylosopher's opinions in our country aiming to take a general con­trol. In the early part of the text the author presents the connections between Marias' thinking to the of J. Ortega у Gasset's. They played a very inportant role in the formation of Marias' theoretical base. The specifacation of this relationship was defined by the comparison of Marias' account to Or­tega's conception of other author's presentations, in the next part of the work, the author indicates the most substantial motives of J. Marias' consideration, calling special atention on the methafhysical and episthemological aspects and indicates its numerous connections with phenomenology too. In the end the author notices that the discussed phylosophy may be treated as the synthesis of M. Unamuno's and M. Ortega у Gasset's conceptions.
