W artykule przedstawiono w ujęciu historycznym (od 1970 r.) i perspektywicznym problematykę współpracy organów planowania Polski i Czechosłowacji, a od niedawna Czech i Słowacji. Omówiono treść i wnioski z opracowanych dokumentów studialnych.

The frontier areas of Poland, Czech Republik and Slovakia were treated in previous period as those of secondary importance. In the perspective of European integration, they have now chances for intesive development. Its indispensable condition is a possibly large opening of frontiers for common initiatives and cooperation on all the levels of management. For the needs of this cooperation, some coordination studies have been prepared on the development of frontier areas (two versions: Polish-Czech and Polish-Slovakian). If they are approved as obligatory, these documents will become a basis for establishing common organizational structures and for preparation of development programmes concerning: - protection and undisturbed use of environment, - development of the infrastructure network, particularly of transport links and frontier-crossings - economic activation (labour market, small and mean-sized enterprises, tourism and treatment in health resorts), - intensification of social relations. The programmes will take into account common activities on the national, regional and self-governmental levels. If they fulfill the requirements of European assistance organizations, they may open the way for financial support from the part of these organizations.
