In his article, the author presents the two groups of terms and conditions that have decided the course and consequences of developments in the wholesale trade in Poland after 1989. The first one is the terms and conditions formed in the command-and-distributive system, and the second one are the terms and conditions specific for the period of system transformation. Due to their diversity, the author discusses those, which have substantially influenced the hitherto consequences of transformations in the Polish wholesale trade These are: a quick pace of changes in the relation between manufacturers and trade agents, easiness of entering the market, expansion of foreign distributors and lack of strong pressure at the part of atomised manufacturing and retailing businesses on improvement of the level of wholesaling functions. Combination of these terms and conditions has caused that transformations in the wholesaling link n Poland differ from the proved foreign solutions. Importance of the traditional wholesale trade has been increasing, whereas the role of modern forms of wholesaling activities remains minute.

Статья представляет две группьі обусловленностей, которьіе реіІІИЛИ ход и исход перемен в оптовой торговле в Польше после 1989 г. Первая обусловленности, сформировавшиеся в директивно-распределительной системе, вторая обусловленности, специфические для периода системной трансформации. Из-за их разнообразия автор обсуждает те, которьіе существенньїм образом повлияли на прежние последствия перемен в польском опте. Зто: бьістрьій темп изменений в отношениях между производителями и торговьіми посредниками, простота входа на ринок, зкспансия зарубежньїх распределительньїх организаций и отсутствие сильного нажима со стороньї мелких производственньїх и розничньїх фирм на повьішение уровня функций опта. Сплетение зтих обусловленностей привело к тому, что переменьї в оптовом звене в Польше отличаются от проверенньїх зарубежньїх решений. Растет значение традиционного опта, а роль современньїх форм оптовой деятельности остается небольшой.
