Wyznaczono biodegradacją pyretroidów: cypermetryny, deltametryny, fenwaleratu i permetryny w wodach powierzchniowych średnio zanieczyszczonych. Badania prowadzono w systemie modelowym symulującym warunki wody rzecznej w tzw. modelu rzeki Szybkość procesu degradacji badano w zależności od stężenia związku, temperatury wody i zdolności adaptacyjnych mikroflory wody rzecznej przy powtórnym wprowadzeniu związków do środowiska zanieczyszczonego.

The aim of the study was to research biodegradation of selected pyrethroids: Cypermethrin, deltamethrin, fenvalerate and permethrin in Polish surface waters. The experiments were earned out in the laboratory conditions using the "river model". Pyrethroid degradation was tested on days 1, 3, 7, 14, 21, and 35 after the application by CG/ECD following n-hexane extraction. Mean pyrethroid regain ranged from 88% to 118%, while the determination limit of the method was 0.1 µg/1-1. Two test series each were performed for two selected pyrethroid concentrations (initial and 5 times higher), and two different water temperatures (19.8°C to 21.8°C [summer model] and 9.8°C to 11°C [spring model]) were used to study the processes of adaptation of river microorganisms to the presence of the analysed chemicals. In the spring model, fresh pyrethroids were added after their content had dropped below 10% initial value and the bioeégradation test was continued with microorganisms which were already adapted to the environment polluted by these chemicals. The results of the degradation tests were analysed by the methods of mathematical statistics. The analysis revealed that the process developed usually according to 1-st order kinetic equation. Kinetic parameters of the process (decomposition rate constant and half-life t50) of the examined chemicals were also calculated. The results confirm that pyrethroids are characterised by medium-long stability in the Polish surface waters. Their biodegradation evidently depended on temperature, concentration, chemical structure, and also on the adaptative characteristics of the microorganisms. Deltamethrin and permethrin were degraded faster than Cypermethrin, and much faster than fenvalerate. Lower temperature considerably slowed down the degradation process. The adaptative changes in the microogranisms correlated positively with the pyrethroid biodégradation, resulting in shorter half-life of the re-introduced pyrethroids.
