Anticipated radar image prediction of chosen nautical area

Some results of anticipated radar image generation for the chosen navigational area are presented in this article. The aim of the research carried out was to verify main principles of the generating method. Real radar pictures were recorded during voyage of the M/V NAWIGATOR XXI from Świnoujście to Szczecin. As the next step the DTM of the area was created on the basis oftopographical information; The radar chart of area was generated. Finally, dynamically recorded real radar pictures were converted and compared with predicted radar chart. This type of information could be utilized for determination of ship’s position by comparative navigational methods.
