Na podstawie literatury przedstawiono charakterystykę metody oznaczania boru w roślinie i glebie z zastosowaniem azomethiny-H, uwzględniając dotychczasowe modyfikacje i udoskonalenia. Azomethina-H, z borem w środowisku wodnym daje barwny kompleks, który podlega prawu Lamberta-Bera w szerokim zakresie stężeń. Reakcja przebiega szybko w temperaturze pokojowej. Maskowania buforem (EDTA) wymagają obecne w badanym materiale jony Cu2+, Fe3+ i A13+. Prostota tej metody, a jednocześnie porównywalna czułość do metod klasycznych zadecydowały o jej wielkiej przydatności w analizie gleby, rośliny, wody i ścieków.

A review of the literature was made to characterize the methods used to determine boron in plants and soil with the application of azomethine-H, with attention paid to all known modifications and improvements. Azomethine-H produces with boron a coloured complex in the aquatic environment, which is subject to Lambert-Ber's law in a large range of concentrations. The reactions is rapid in room temperature. Masking with the buffer (EDTA) must be performed when the materiał contains Cu2+, Fe3+ and Al3+ ions. Simplicity of the method and its sensitivity comparable to classical methods result in its high suitability in the analyses of soil, plants, water and wastes.
