This paper specifies toxicometric index values for dinitrotoluene (DNT) isomers obtained in the acute oral toxicity studies. According to the Hodge and Sterner classification, 2,3-DNT and 2,4-DNT belong to slightly toxic compounds, whereas the 2,6-DNT is a medium-toxic chemical. According to the OECD classification, the examined DNT isomers are classified as harmful (200 < LD50 < 2000 mg/kg b.w.). Our comparisons of the sizes of toxic activity ranges (as determined by the value of the regression coefficient of the probit line) revealed range significance between 2.3- and 2,4-DNT, and between 2,3- and 2,6-DNT. The ranges of the toxic activity of 2,4-DNT and 2,6-DNT isomers did not differ significantly, indicating a similar toxicity of those isomers.
