The bile is a secretion and an excretion of the j liver. Different endogenous and exogenous compounds and minerals are removed in the bile. The bile is the main route of copper excretion from human body. The bile from the gallblader is more condensed than the bile from the liver. The aim of our investigation was preliminary estimation of the content of copper in the gallblader and liver bile of patients with cholelithiasis. The gallbladder bile was collected after removal of the gallbladder from the patients with cholelithiasis, whereas the bile produced in liver was collected from the T- tube in the first, fifth and seventh day after operation. We confirmed that the average content of copper in the bile from the gallbladder was notably higher than in the bile from the liver of the same patients. Similarly, the total protein content was higher in the gallbladder bile. The copper to total protein ratio in gallblader bile was notably higher than in liver bile. In the liver bile collected in fifth and seventh day after operation the copper to total protein ratio was stable.
