In the study Festuca duriuscula (L.) Koch. of Gabi cultivar of Polish breeding was used. During 4 years of field experiment on the grounds of carbon waste rock sits the growth and development of cultivar Gabi was analysed. The ground formed the so-called "difficult site" for plans. The cultivar was introduced by sowing of seeds with minerał N+ P fertilising, and without fertilising. Following characteristics of the sward formed by this cultivar were analysed: height of sward, height of generative shoots, the covering of ground, tussock diameter. The number of growing plants (plant coverage) and the number of generative shoots of plans growing on the fertilising field was evaluated more numerous. More intensive self-seeding process could be observed on the fertilised field.
