Ruminants drink water not only from water mains and shallow houshold wells but abo from rivers and streams. Despire wide varitions, some of these waters may constitute a valuable source of magnesium, especially in view of the fact that it is the from of magnesium which is most readily assimilated by animals. This is particularly true with regard to river to river and well waters. Hower, frequently thease waters also contain dangerous levels of unwelcome constituents.
