W uprawia szklarniowej badano niektóre cechy wegetatywnego i generatywnego wzrostu roślin dwóch odmian oberżyny Rima F1 i Leanda F1, w zależności od sposobu cięcia liści i zawiązków owoców. Stwierdzono kompensacyjną zdolność roślin do rozbudowy powierzchni i miąższości blaszki liściowej pod wpływem redukcji liści oraz zawiązków. Wykazano, że najbardziej korzystnym było pozostawienie jednego zawiązka wraz z towarzyszącym mu liściem w każdym węźle na pędzie przewodnim dla obu porównywanych odmian. Układ ten zapewniał najlepsze warunki naświetlenia w profilu roślin, podobną wysokość pionu i najwyższą jakość owoców.

Some traits of the vegetative and generative growth of eggplant cultivars Rima F1 and Leanda F1, as depending upon the method of leaf and fruit set pruning, were investigated. The compensative capacity of plants affected by the reduction of leaves and fruit sets was manifested by extension in area and thickness of leaf blades. An important effect of pruning eggplant was the improved quality of fruits evaluated on the basis of their mean weight and external dimensions. It was ascertained that in both cultivars the most favourable treatment was to leave one fruit set with a neighbouring leaf on each node of the main shoot. This way of pruning ensured the best light conditions in plant profiles, similar yields, and the highest quality of fruits.
