The article presents an analysis of the properties of tractrix curve, substantiates the expediency of using it as the forming curved surface of the press head working channel of plant materials in order to reduce the energy intensity of the materials pressing process. A method of constructing a tractrix is described and factors affecting the design parameters of the forming head with the curved working surface are analyzed.
