This observation concerns a man of 21 who called to the Clinic because of diarrhoea, which persisted in him since he was 11, retarded physical development and considerable weakness. A strong infection of the alimentary tract with Lamblia intestinalis was found in this patient and it was most probably the agent which caused the chronic diarrhoea. This in turn caused a retardation of the physical development which resulted in secondary infantilism. The picture of the blood serum proteins was interesting, because the values for the total protein, albumins, globulins alpha and beta were normal, but selectively lovered were the gammaglobulins. The low level of gammaglobulins and the lack of isohaemeagglutinins group gave us a full syndrome of hypogammaglobulinaemia. Intensive treatment with atebrin failed to produce the expected effect of liquidation of lambliosis.
