The present paper deals with the effectiveness of the trichinoscopical examinations of pork as the basie factor of the prophylaxis against the infection with trichinellae. The mathematical analysis of the regulations served as the base. The mathematical analysis revealed that a certain number of the larvae of trichinellae can in spite of the regulations presently in force reach the consumption marked in pork classified as trichinella free. In the light of the current views on the pathogenesis of trichinellosis and certain basie principles prevailing in our opinion on the allergic phenomena, the author regards that the brcaches in the regulations on trichinoscopy are not indifferent to practical medicine beca use they may cause outbreaks of single, isolated cases of trichinellosis which evaded proper diagnosis and sanitary-epiderniological evidence. According to the author the elaboration of new, more effective prophylactic methods against trichinellosis is an urgent social task.
