In the period of autumn vegetation, winter oilseed rape is exposed to damage caused by a great number of pest species. As a result of autumn pest feeding, oilseed rape plants become weakened and show symptoms of abnormal development, and they are also more susceptible to unfavourable climatic conditions in winter and early spring. Most effective and cheapest way of pest controlling in early developmental stages of winter oilseed rape plants is pre-sowing seed dressing. Effectiveness of seed dressing products depends on such factors as: applied product range, accurate coverage of seeds, agrometeorological conditions, intensity of pest occurrence and dynamics of plant development. The aim of the studies was to evaluate the efficacy of seed dressing products against winter oilseed rape pests. Field experiments were carried out at the Agricultural Experimental Station – Przybroda and two Plant Breeding Stations: Borowo and Małyszyn. The results of performed studies revealed a high efficacy of all tested preparations against autumn pests of winter oilseed rape crops.
