Krajewski, T., Pietrucha, T. and Wachowicz, В.: The inhibitory effect of UV-light on thrombin-induced pig platelet aggregation. Acta physiol, pol., 1989, 40 (4): 413-417. The effect of ultraviolet radiation on the thrombin-stimulated aggregation of washed pig platelets was studied. It was observed that UV radiation (UV-A, 0.5 W/cm²) inhibited aggregation of pig platelets induced by thrombin. Plasma may have a protective role against the damaging effect of UV light on platelet aggregation.
