The research was conducted in a willow plantation in Ołdrzychowice Kłodzkie in Kłodzko Valley situated 350–400 metres above the sea level. Two willow plantations were included in the research. They differed with respect to the methods of weed control in the first year after planting: A – without measures, B – with mechanical measures. In 2008–2009 in total 24 phytosociological pictures were taken, and the indexes of phytosociological stability (S) and weed cover of soil (W) were determined. It was stated that mechanical measures carried out on willow plantation in the first year after planting did not significantly affect the number of weed species. Measures of weed control affected degree of weed cover of soil. The index value was over twice lower on the willow plantation under mechanical weeding, as compared to the control object without on the any treatments. On the plantation protected against weeds the following weed species prevailed (above 10% degree of cover): Tanacetum vulgare and Urtica dioica, while in case of willow without weed control Artemisia vulgaris, Poa annua, Urtica dioica and Poa pratensis.
