Celem pracy było zbadanie, w jakim stopniu zmiany w dostępności asymilatów spowodowane usunięciem części liści, kwiatów czy strąków wpływają na plonowanie roślin bobiku w warunkach polowych. Stymulacja wielkości nasion, będąca wynikiem usunięcia 20%, 67% i 80% liczby kwiatów lub usunięcia 33% i 80% młodych strąków, potwierdza wyniki innych autorów, świadczące o tym, że tą drogą może następować znacząca kompensacja plonu nasion bobiku.

Effect of changes in assimilate availability (variation of sources - sink ratio) caused by defoliation, depodding or flower removal on pods and seeds production were studied during plant vegetation in field conditions. It can be clearly seen that a 20% reduction of leaves, pods or flowers influences favourably the plant cropping. In comparison to control group, an 80% depodding and 80% flower removal caused a 40% decrease in yield, an 80% defoliation, however, caused a 65% yield decrease. Removal of flowers by 80% and pods (by 67% and 80%) leads to a considerable stimulation of vegetative organs (stems and leaves) contrary to defoliated plants. Depodded plants were the highest and had the least number of immature pods in comparison to defoliated and de-flowered plants. Leaf removal decreased the total dry matter per plant and distribution rate of dry matter in reproductive organs. The removal of about 67% of flowers did not cause a marked decrease in seed crop. Flower removal by 67% and 80%, depodding by 80% seems to stimulate the size of seeds. This confirms the results of other authors and provides evidence that by employment of such methods a considerable compensation in seed yield may be achieved.
