The examinations in 2091 inhabitants of 7 villages (Miechów region, Cracov voivodeship) showed the presence of E. vermicularis in 38.1%, T. trichiura in 32.1%, A. lumbricoides in 7.5% and L. intestinalis in 1.8% of cases. Geohelminth invasions were less common, in villages with newly introduced sanitary measures, as compared with those remaining on the previous level. The converse was true for E. vermicularis invasion; Massive therapy brought about an improvement in the parasitic situation of hygienized villages, particularly in the case of T. trichiura invasion (45.4 and 66.7%).
