A comprehensive behavioral screening was carried out in the McGill-R-Thy1-APP rat model of Alzheimer’s disease, over 11 months. Classical behavioral read-outs were performed parallel to intra-homecage metabolic measurements (PhenoMaster®) and operant conditioning (IntelliMaze®), once every 3 months. The collection of data gathered in this study offers a measure of the sensitivity and throughput of automated phenotyping as compared to classical paradigms, for the detection of cognitive and noncognitive alterations in transgenic rats
