Rodzaj Lathyrus należący do rodziny Fabaceae obejmuje około 160 gatunków zarówno jednorocznych, jak i wieloletnich. Lathyrus sativus i Lathyrus cicera charakteryzują się wysoką odpornością na suszę, podtapianie i tolerancją na gleby niskiej klasy. Przeprowadzone analizy izoenzymatyczne miały na celu wykrycie podobieństwa miedzy obiektami kolekcyjnymi o wspólnym pochodzeniu geograficznym. Badano 40 obiektów (30 L. sativus i 10 L. cicera) wywodzących się z 17 krajów. Obserwowano 11 polimorficznych loci w 7 systemach enzymatycznych 6-PGD (dehydrogenaza 6-fosfoglukonianowa), AAT (aminotransferaza asparaginianowa), LAP (aminopeptydaza leucynowa), TPI (izomeraza triozofosforanowa), GAL (β-galaktozydaza kwaśna), ALAT (aminotransferaza alaninowa), EST (esteraza). Wysoki polimorfizm prezentowany był w 6-PGD i AAT, gdzie wykryto aż 4 allele. Na podstawie wyników analizy izoenzymatycznej sporządzono dendrogram z użyciem UPGMA. Badane linie utworzyły cztery grupy główne. Najwyższe podobieństwo obserwowane było dla sześciu obiektów L. cicera z Grecji.

The genus Lathynis is a member of Fabaceae family and comprises about 160 annual and perennial species. Lathyrus sativus and Lathyrus cicera are tolerant to drought, flooding and low soil quality. To explain geographical relationships 40 accessions (30 of L. sativus and 10 of L. cicera) were examined originating from 17 different countries. 11 polymorphic loci were observed for 7 enzyme systems: 6-PGD (6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase), AAT (aspatrate aminotransferase), LAP (leucine aminopeptidase), TPI (triose phosphate isomerase), GAL (galactosidase), ALAT (alanine aminotransferase), EST (esterase). High polymorphism was observed for 6-PGD and AAT where four different alleles were detected. Isozyme-based dendrogram was constructed with hierarchical clustering using UPGMA (Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Mean). The lines clustered into four main groups. The highest similarity was observed for 6 subjects of Lathyrus cicera from Greece.
