The aim of investigation was to evaluate variance of Alternaria alternaria and Fusarium occurence on winter wheat grain in relation to cultivar and weather conditions. The experimental plots were set up on good rye complex soil. Grain of wheat that was obtained from standard cultivation (without protection against fungal diseases) was subjected to mycological evaluation. Dominant fungal species that were isolated from grain surface was A. alternaria, whilst Fusarium spp. and remaining fungal species were significantly less frequent. A large number of isolated fungi A. alternaria was found in grain of cultivars Trend and Kobra Plus. Cultivar Ruben showed the increase of resistance to A. alternaria. Evaluation of cultivar resistance to examined pathogenic factors was not possible because of small number of Fusarium species on wheat grain.
