According to the studies carried out in 2007–2009 the lineages of short-stemmed winter rye x wheat were mainly infected by Puccinia recondita and Septoria tritici and damaged by larvae Oulema spp., while the fungi Blumeria graminis and Septoria nodorum occurred only sporadically.
