The paper presents results of research carried out over 2002–2006 which aimed at describing the sequent impact of stubble catch crops plowed down in the autumn and left in the form of mulch till spring in combinations without straw or with straw, on number, mass and species composition of weeds before harvest of winter triticale. The following combinations of organic fertilization were taken into account: control object (without organic fertilization), phacelia, phaceliamulch, straw, phacelia + straw, phacelia-mulch + straw. The results showed that applying of organic fertilization in pre-yield their winter triticale significantly reduced the number and dry mass of weeds in comparison to their number, which was noted in winter triticale cultivated on control object. Phacelia applied the pre-yield of winter triticale plowed down in autumn and also left in the form of mulch till the spring in combinations without straw and with straw significantly limited the oceurrence the of Apera spica-venti and Viola arvensis.
