Przedmiotem badań były trzy, dominujące w zbiorowisku gatunki traw: Dactylis glomerata L., Arrhenatherum elatius P.P. i Alopecurus pratensis L. W czerwcu 2008 roku pobrano pędy generatywne tych traw, rosnące w trzech odległościach od szosy (5, 55, 105 m).

The object of investigations, were three grass species predominant in the community: Dactylis glomerata L., Arrhenatherum elatius P.P. and Alopecurus pratensis L. In June 2008 three generative shoots, of these grasses growing at distances from the road (5, 55, 105 m) were taken. The samples from each distance from 10 randomly chosen places were taken. The material the investigations comprised the whole generative shoots as well as individual organs of these shoots (for leaves, stem, inflorescence). The collected samples were divided into two parts. One part, comprised the whole generative shoots but the second was divided onto individual organs. In prepared vegetable material the content of lead by the ASA method was determined. Lead distribution in individual parts of plants was different. The most of this element was determined in inflorescences, and the least in leaves. The conducted investigations also revealed, that the studied grass species have different ability of lead accumulation in the above - ground parts. The most of this element, in each distance from the road (1.88-6.11 mg∙kg-1 DM) was found in Arrhenatherum elatius. Moreover, an average concentration of lead per kilogram of dry mass of this species was about 1.71 mg higher than in Dactylis glomerata and about 2.12 mg higher than in Alopecurus pratensis. It was also stated that there is a clear dependence between the lead content in plants and the distance from the road. With the increasing distance, the content of this metal significantly decreased.
