W pracy przedstawiono analizę wyników 4-letnich doświadczeń z eksploatacji hydrofitowej, jednoetapowej, trzcinowej oczyszczalni z pionowym przepływem. Głównym celem badań była analiza skuteczności oczyszczania i ocena jakości odpływających ścieków. Badania wykonywano w latach 2006–2009. W okresie badawczym, w którym wycinano i usuwano trzcinę ze złóż (lata 2008–2009) skuteczność usuwania zawiesin ogólnych, BZT5, ChZT, azotu amonowego, azotu ogólnego i fosforu ogólnego wzrosła i wynosiła odpowiednio: 83,1%, 76,7%, 85,4%, 49,8%, 45,1% i 65,6%. W analizowanym systemie skuteczniejsze usuwanie zanieczyszczeń prawdopodobnie byłoby możliwe po przekształceniu obecnie funkcjonujących jednoetapowych złóż trzcinowych w system czterech, szeregowo ustawionych złóż z naprzemian pionowym i poziomym przepływem ścieków.

The paper presents an analysis of results from four-year operation of a single- stage reed bed constructed wetland system with vertical flow. The main goals of the study were to monitor the treatment efficiency of the system and to assess the quality of the outflow sewage. The study was performed in 2006–2009. Average wastewater flow was 13.9 m3·d-1. Yearly cutting and removing of reed from the bed contributed to a increase in pollutions removal efficiency in that wastewater treatment plant. During the operation of the system in the period of 2006–2007, when no reed was removed from the beds, the efficiency of removal of total suspended solids, BOD5, COD, ammonium nitrogen, total nitrogen and total phosphorus was 78.6%, 76.1%, 81.8%, 15.3%, 23.5% and 57.2%, respectively. During the period studied, when the reed was cut and removed from the beds (2008–2009), the efficiency of removal of total suspended solids, BOD5, COD, ammonium nitrogen, total nitrogen and total phosphorus increased and amounted to 83.1%, 76.7%, 85.4%, 49.8%, 45.1% and 65.6%, respectively. In the analysed system, removal of pollutions would be probably more efficient after changing the single-stage reed beds functioning at present to four parallel beds with alternately arranged vertical and horizontal sewage flows.
