Potato belongs to the plants being infected by many pathogens, among the others by pathogens causing disease symptoms during whole vegetation and storage period. The health status of stored tubers is affected by many factors, interacting each other, however the most important of them is the tubers’ salabrity during vegetation period. The three years’ investigation evaluated the effect of bio-preparations Polyversum (B.A.S. Pythium oligandrum) and Biochikol 020 PC (B.A.S. chitozan) applied before and during vegetation period, on the tubers’ infection by Fusarium spp. (dry rot) and Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp. carotovorum (soft rot) during storage. As a standard the fungicide Vitavax 200 FS (B.A.S. carboxin + thiuram) was used. After harvesting the yield, 100 tubers randomly choosen from each plot were collected and put in storage. The tubers’ infestation by Fusarium spp. and P. carotovorum subsp. carotovorum was analysed after harvesting and later every three months during storage period. On the basis of obtained results it was ascertained that the tested preparations applied during potato vegetation influenced the lower (in comparison with control) percentage of tubers infected by Fusarium spp. and P. carotovorum subsp. carotovorum.
