W jednej z linii hodowlanych stwierdzono występowanie allela o wielkości 156 pz o nieznanym efekcie fenotypowym.

Viral diseases may cause significant yield reduction in some years. To recognize current status of virus resistance in cereal breeding in Poland, we screened breeding resources represented by 168 lines of winter wheat and 21 cultivars for the presence of Sbm1 gene of tolerance to Soil-Borne Cereal Mosaic Virus (SBCMV) and Bdv2 gene of resistance to Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus. The presence of Sbm1 gene was assessed with the marker Xgwm469-5D. The Sbm1 gene was found in 4 cultivars of common wheat (Alcazar, Meteor, Ostka Strzelecka, Nateja), and in 13 breeding lines. The susceptible genotypes showed allel „null” in locus Xgwm469-5D. A new allele sized 156 bp with the unknown effect was found in a single breeding line. The presence of gene Bdv2 of resistance to BYDV was traced with the known DNA markers. The Bdv2 gene derived from A. intermedium was identified with the markers Bdv2, SC-gp1 and SCD04. Only in case of the marker SC-gp1 specific amplification products suggesting the presence of the Bdv2 gene were obtained, however, these findings were not confirmed with the Bdv2 marker. The marker SCD04 come out to be not specific under the applied amplification conditions.
